How do you tell your 8 year old child that his father demands that his parental rights be terminated because he thinks that by giving up his parental rights he will not have to pay child support? How do you tell your child that his father cares so little about him that he would be willing to sever all parental relationship with him just to avoid his financial responsibility? He does not love his son. Any parent who truly loves their child would NEVER even suggest a termination of parental rights to avoid paying support.
You don't tell your child anything. You keep on working every day and taking care of your child and eventually you will see that deadbeat in jail for non-support. When your son is older, he will know who kept him fed and a roof over his head and took care of him. That's what you do.
