I want everyone to take a moment, to STOP and think about what is going on here.
I don't want people to stop fighting for what is right, and good and moral, and justified. What I don't want is to make this about me. It really isn't about me. It is about the voice, the message, the right of everyone to express their thoughts and ideas. Somehow, people have come to equate Helen the human being with the ideas. It is easy to attack an idea, not so easy to attack a human being. Helen the human being is getting lost in all the fighting. I don't want to get lost.
You are right Helen - this had all deteriorated to waaay beyond a civil, rational debate on any recognisable issue. I am glad Peter has now 'shut down' those few who were perpetuating the ridiculous vindictiveness for the pure sake of it.... kallena xx

I have not quit. I am not a quitter. I think everyone knows that. I think we just need a few days to stop and think about what has happened, and what is really going on here.
If the forum posts continue, if certain people are allowed to continue to attack me unabated, then the message will be soiled. The quiet voice calling for tolerance, acceptance, and justice will never be heard.
My name will be associated with mudslinging, hateful words, and personal attacks. Whatever people may think of me or my art, I have never advocated hurting another human being. I think that is where all this gets confused in a mess of words and images -- it is not the people I fight, it is the violent words and ideas. Is it so hard to separate human beings from the ideas they espouse? I don't want to be remembered as an idea to be loved by some and hated by others. I am a human being. I want to be remembered as a human being who cared enough to sacrifice her own future for those who will never meet her or even care what happens to her.
I know that Helen.... There are still some of us who have not forgotten who you are and how you act and what you stand for... I hope there can now be a space to allow that quiet voice to be a little better heard.... love, Kallena xxx
Hey Helen, I have absolutely no doubt that the intentions of just about everyone participating are good, but each one of those threads so far has only served to provide a further platform for those seeking to divert the real issues, and use it as a very public forum to destroy your credibility, and all you stand for. I can't help but agree with you, so much of what this battle should have been about was lost sight of in a sea of squabbling and pettiness. Sadly, very little about those forum posts was constructive, and anything that was, or could have been, was swallowed up in the melee..it was painful to observe reason go out the the window that way...but it also shows the level of disillusionment many have reached. I don't believe the whole thing beyond redemption - breathing space is required, regrouping, and more constructive means need to be found. One thing is certain, it needs to be kept out of the public forums, they have become tainted. Mx
